Prototech is a leader in the Southwest US in urethane castings with more than seventeen years of experience. We vacuum and pressure cast using meter-mix dispensing equipment and the latest high performance materials and processes.
Molds
Most molding is done using high quality addition cure RTV
Silicones. Whether your parts require a simple glove mold or an accurate
multi-stage hybrid mold, Prototech is up to the challenge. In most cases
silicone molds can make 30 or more parts, per cavity. We also make hard
plastic, epoxy and Quick-Cast molds.
Machining
Prototech’s specialty is machining sophisticated parts and patterns in plastics. Working with your 3D CAD file or a napkin sketch, we regularly make parts in:
Engineering thermoplastics, including ABS, acetal, teflon, polypropylene, Ultem, nylon and polycarbonate, to name a few.
Aluminum and other metals
Urethane and epoxy tooling board
With 10,000 RPM capability, Prototech has made parts using a .010" diameter milling cutter! Prototech can provide thermoforming tooling for you in either tooling board or thin-walled aluminum castings from our machined master patterns.

Through our strategic alliances we can offer RP at affordable prices and highest quality. We work with you, to choose the most appropriate process and material from the many options, thus you can be assured of dependable delivery, quality and functionality without the guesswork or risk.
Prototech can provide intermediate volumes of molded thermoplastic parts utilizing RT, Bridge, or temporary tooling.
Finishing
Prototech provides a wide range of finish options. Besides molded in colors
and textures on cast parts, we can provide durable textured and smooth finishes
in polyurethane enamels and other paints. Custom colors and finishes are routine
for us. We apply transparent tints. We polish plastics with both abrasive
and chemical vapor methods, depending on the material.
Prototech has provided parts vacuum metallized with many different metals
and applies EMI-RFI coatings both in-the-mold and as a post-mold spray application.
We can do in-house silk-screening and have done limited hot-stamping and hot
stamping simulation. Let us do your logo and graphics, whether raised, de-bossed
or applied.
